 Moths eggs in bran

PostSubject: Moths eggs in bran   Tue Jan 14, 2014 4:26 pm

I am having trouble with moth eggs that come in the bran. I have tried freezing the bran I am going to use for 3 -4 days before using and also have tried microwaving the bran to the point of it almost turning brown but to no avail, the eggs still hatch! I dont want to overcook the bran as its the food for the mealworms but I need to get rid of them somehow. I dont want the larvae mixed with the mealworms even though it doesnt seem to affect them. What do others do? Every bag I have bought has this problem and its very frustrating!  Mad
